PROBLEM
A client required assistance with a pump impeller and housing that has suffered wear and damage.

APPLICATION
All repair and coating work were undertaken at Rezitech’s workshop in Hallam. First, the pump impeller and housing were abrasive blasted and all damaged areas repaired with Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal). Thereafter they were coated with two layers of Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal). Finally, the housing external was painted with two pack epoxy paint.

OUTCOME
The client was highly satisfied with the result and visited our workshop to assess our capabilities as they plan to use us for similar projects in the near future.

Belzona’s wide range of epoxy-based metal repair composites and high temperature coatings and linings has been used in the water and wastewater industry since the late 1970s.
Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal)
A 2-part epoxy-based repair composite designed for metal repair and protection against the effects of erosion and corrosion. This solvent-free repair composite has excellent chemical resistance and will bond to all metals and most other rigid surfaces. It is easy to mix and apply without the need for specialist tools and it cures at room temperature eliminating the need for hot work. It is ideally suited to be overcoated with Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) to ensure long-lasting performance.
Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal)
A 2-part ceramic filled epoxy coating designed to provide erosion and corrosion resistance of metal surfaces. This solvent-free epoxy coating has outstanding chemical resistance and will bond to almost any rigid surface. Due to its high compressive strength it can be also used to create a perfect shim. This material is easy to mix and apply without the need for specialist tools and it cures at room temperature eliminating the need for hot work.
