Frequently asked questions
Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) is a two-part epoxy repair composite designed for repairing, rebuilding and resurfacing metal components. It cures at room temperature and can be used for a wide range of industrial maintenance applications, including repairing worn, corroded, cracked or damaged machinery and equipment.
Belzona 1111 can be used to repair and rebuild shafts, bearing housings, keyways, pump and engine casings, pipes, tanks, hydraulic rams and flange faces. It is also commonly used to resurface pitted metal, create load-bearing shims and bond metal components.
Yes, Belzona 1111 can provide a cold-applied alternative to welding for many metal repair and bonding applications where the repair design and service conditions are suitable. Because it cures at room temperature, no hot work is required, helping eliminate the heat, sparks and distortion associated with welding.
Belzona 1111 provides excellent adhesion to carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and copper, as well as many other rigid substrates. This makes it suitable for both metal-to-metal bonding and a wide range of industrial repair applications involving different materials.
Yes. Belzona 1111 is suitable for certain potable water applications and carries recognised drinking-water certifications, including AS/NZS 4020, NSF/ANSI 61 and WRAS approval. Application requirements and service conditions should always be checked before selecting the system.
