PROBLEM
A major agricultural company needed a solution to restore and protect the roof of a distillation storage tank used in producing crop protection blends.
The tank roof, which had been repaired previously, had suffered severe corrosion under insulation (CUI) and deteriorated to the point that it was no longer fit for service, with replacement already scheduled.
To avoid the high cost and downtime associated with a full roof replacement, the client sought an alternative solution to extend the tank’s service life.

APPLICATION
Belzona 5811 was selected for its strong chemical resistance and proven protection against corrosion for equipment operating under immersion in aqueous solutions up to 50°C.
Rezitech Services completed the works on site, preparing the roof by abrasive blasting before applying Belzona 5811 to seal and protect the surface.

OUTCOME
The project was successfully completed within a rapid turnaround time, delivering significant cost savings compared to a full roof replacement.

A 2-part epoxy coating which provides outstanding chemical resistance and protects equipment operating under immersion in aqueous solutions up to 50°C (122°F) from the effects of corrosion.
