PROBLEM
A bearing failure in a clarifier resulted in shaft damage, which needed to be repaired.

APPLICATION
The shaft was prepared using abrasive blasting to remove heavy rust build-up and cleaned with ReziSafe FP29 Safe Solvent to eliminate surface contaminants. Thereafter, Belzona 1111 was applied to the worn areas on the shaft.
A shaft former, fabricated and machined in the Rezitech Hallam workshop, was positioned and secured with bolts. Once the Belzona 1111 had cured, the former was removed, and the repaired shaft was smoothed and cleaned.

Molding process. The former was applied and secured with bolts.
The bolts were tightened to allow excess product to exude out.
OUTCOME
Worn areas of the shaft were successfully repaired and restored in-situ, which saved a significant amount of time and money for the client by not having to remove the entire shaft and rake assembly.

Belzona 1111 (Super Metal)
A 2-part repair composite for metal repair and resurfacing based on solvent-free epoxy resin reinforced with silicon steel alloy. This repair material will not corrode and resists a wide range of chemicals. It is easy to mix and apply without the need of specialist tools and can be machined using conventional tools.
ReziSafe FP29 Safe Solvent
FP29 Safe Solvent has been created as a direct replacement for Acetone and MEK in the workplace. This product provides a much safer alternative for those who regularly use these products and are exposed to its hazardous elements. FP29 Safe Solvent uses its patented technology to reduce these health risks and provide a product with increased performance on all levels.
