PROBLEM
A power station’s loading-bay bund, which is routinely exposed to aggressive chemicals such as hypochlorite and sulphuric acid, suffered failure of its original coating under severe chemical attack. After many years in service the existing coating had begun to deteriorate and a new protective system was required.
The customer needed a robust solution to restore the surface and provide long-term chemical protection.

APPLICATION
Belzona 4311 was selected as the protective system. This durable two-part epoxy coating is designed to provide long-term protection of concrete and metal substrates against chemical attack and is particularly suited to bund walls and floors, chemical spill areas, concrete tank plinths and retaining walls where reliable chemical resistance is required.

OUTCOME

Belzona 4311 (Magma CR1)
A durable, 2-part epoxy coating for the long-term protection of concrete and metal surfaces from chemical attack. This solvent-free coating isolates concrete and metal surfaces from aggressive chemicals especially acids and alkalis. It is easy to mix and apply by hand or spray without the need of specialist tools and cures at room temperature.
